Enlightenment
Animal Speak
by Ted Andrews
ISBN 0875420281
This book is amazing; I never knew that an animal presence in your
life could mean so much. Just before receiving this book I had a
reading done telling me what I needed to do to further my spiritual
growth as well as letting me know about my guides, just after my
reading I was visited by a Robin three times in three days. I took
me a day to look up in the book what it meant the robin helps
you to assert the force of will to create new growth in your life,
the robin will help show how effect this growth successfully.
Wow, did I need any more conformation that I was on the right path.
A week later I was greeted by a tree frog in my bathroom, how it
got there I had know idea until reading Animal Speak and again was
amazed by the clarity. Frogs are links to fairies and elves; it
came out in my reading that I have three fairy guides. The book
says, Frog totems are very sensitive to the emotional state
of others. I had just gone through a stressful week with the
passing of a grandparent and another being hospitalized, then reading
the book and feeling a sense of calm and warmth knowing that my
fairies were letting me know that they were there for me and that
I would be okay. Without this book these occurrences could have
been just mundane things that happened in my life but now I know
the Significance of these animals and what they mean to me.
This book is so much more than just about animals though, it tells
us about the significance of plants, trees, mountains and more.
If you surround yourself with certain trees like willows, it may
be because they bring healing and inner vision. Ever wonder why
you like the colour red, it may be that you need strength in your
life. When you see a feather on the ground do just keep walking
or stop and pick it up, read chapter 9 and you will be looking for
a feather to try the exercises at the end of the chapter. There
are meditations to help you find your totem or spirit animal that
have generally been with you for your whole life. The meditation
on page 17 is wonderful, so peaceful and uplifting. This book is
easy to read and each time you pick it up you will find even more
information on many different things, I look at it and I am amazed
at the information it provides about so many things other than just
animal speak.

Crystal Medicine
By: Marguerite Elsbeth
ISBN:1567182585
Well, this book was an eye opener for me I always though of rocks
and crystals as inanimate objects that come from the earth and are
just there. Some look like boring old rocks and some are quite pretty
with all the refractions in the crystals. Well, I now know that
they all have spirits of there own and need to be respected, which
until now that concept seemed kind of weird but the way the author
explains it, it makes so much sense.
I now know if I find a rock and it seems to touch me, I should ask
for its permission to remove it from where I find it and that I
should ask it what it can do for me or how it can help me. This
would have seemed totally foreign until I tried it. I saw an Amethyst
ball and when I picked it up it started talking to me right away,
it told me not to look at others and that it was meant to go home
with me. Well all I could think of was WOW why didn’t I do
that before.
The author goes into depth about healing with rocks and crystals
starting with how to clear your rocks of past energy, to empowering
your crystals with energy from the moon or the sun and stars. The
author comes from a native Indian shaman background and the book
teaches mostly about this kind of spirit energy and native shaman
healing but there is good information for everyone.
She talks about stone elixirs; how to make them and the how to
heal with them as well as all the precautions to take. There are
instructions on how to make your own medicine wheel and then detailed
instructions on how to use it which I found really interesting.
She explains things in a way that is easy to understand without
a lot of big words (just down to earth). I found the information
on crystal dowsing to be really helpful since you can do it with
the person there or just by simply drawing an outline of the person
and writhing their name. You can also use a pendulum and dowse the
areas that need healing which is really helpful to pin point where
you need to send distant healing.
The stone encyclopedia consists of about one third of the book;
is very extensive, easy to use and has a lot of information. This
makes the book worthwhile to have as a hand book on stones. The
encyclopedia has so much information on each stone, energy, planet/
sign, stone lore, crystal system and medicinal uses which is really
helpful for someone like myself who is a beginner and has ask many
questions about what stone is good for what purpose. In the beginning
I wasn’t sure I was going to get much out of this book, boy
was I wrong.

Dowsing for
Beginners
by Richard Webster
ISBN 1-56718-802-8
I found this book to be very interesting and educational. I particularly
enjoyed the sections on how to make and use the different types
of tools.
This book would be a great help for anyone interested in learning
how to dowse as the author gives a very good description on the
methods and tools that are necessary. I didn't realize that it is
that simple to dowse. Mr. Webster is an excellent teacher.
Overall I give this book a A+ for clear and concise
instruction and also for introducing the reader to a personal view
of his own experiences.
I also enjoyed the section where he introduces the reader to some
well known dowsers Gallery of Dowsers". Well done Mr.
Webster; I look forward to reading more of your books.

Chakras For
Beginners
by David Pond
ISBN 1-56718-537-1
Chakras For Beginners is a very helpful book for those like myself
who find themselves at the beginning of their spiritual journey
without much knowledge. I had heard the word Chakra but did not
really know what it meant until last year when I received my level
one Reiki, As that journey progressed I realized that I needed more
knowledge and this book really helped .
In the beginning of the book it talks about balance in your life
which is essential, but I didnt realize to what extent until
I read it. It gives you exercises to improve your balance and many
other exercises in each chapter. The exercises help you find out
if your Chakra is balanced and what to work on to improve this,
which is helpful when you are unsure where to begin and then how
to proceed further.
Each chapter tells you the purpose of the Chakra and how it affects
your personality and how you look at the world which amazing that
something so simple can have so much impact if not in balance, whether
in a negative way or a positive way. I now have a direction to go
in and know the knowledge of how to get there because of this book,
it was very informative and will be a great tool to help me on my
journey.
Book Review By:
Julie Bonn
Talk about syncronicity, this book couldnt have come at a
better time for me. After reading Chakras for Beginners,
I felt relieved and affirmed in what I had been guessing to be an
imbalance of my second and third chakras for some time now. What
David Pond has done, however, is given the reader not merely the
meanings of the chakras but the tools to awaken these areas of the
body and spirit by providing the exercises and meditations necessary.
Although I have perused through books on the chakras, spoken to
people about them and tried a few techniques for clearing pathways
of energy, I did not get the whole picture until I read
this informative little book.
David impresses upon us the importance of balance but without sounding
dogmatic. He touches on other religious beliefs and practices, such
as, the christian notion that having fallen from grace many are
on the search to gain access to heaven by being good
in this lifetime. Yet with humour he refutes this by asking the
question, what if our life here is a blessing and not something
to overcome? What if this is it! He also writes by virtue
of his own personal healing and growth. I especially like that he
can explain profound ideas in simple terms, for example the importance
of interconnection between the Ego, Soul and Spirit. Thus reminding
the reader that the premise of the metaphysical path is the inter-relationship
between all things.
A great read! I would recommend this book to others.

Flying Without
a Broom
by D.J. Conway
ISBN 1-56718-164-3
The beginning of the book was great. I really soaked up all the
information and her words made alot of sense to me. As the book
progressed, I became less and less enchanted by her words.
I found her examples to be so extreme that they seemed to be there
just to strike fear into the reader. She would give one of these
examples in her book and then in the next sentence tell you not
to bring fear into your astral work. Well, now that shes planted
all these seeds of fear, I dont know how she expects the reader
to feel calm and comfortable about projecting.
I felt her extreme examples werent needed, a more gentle
example would have been more believable for me and would have given
me the same understanding of what she was cautioning about.
I feel that this book would have been much better if there was
a chapter or two about the cautions that she wanted everyone to
understand rather than becoming redundant throughout the entire
book. A little reminder of caution before each journey would have
been fine but I felt overwhelmed by her warnings.
Her section about astral lovers, to me, seemed wrong. Saying that
having sex in the astral isnt cheating on your partner and
then saying that having sex in the astral is very emotional......how
can something emotional with another partner NOT be cheating? Then
she tells the reader to not bother telling their partners about
this astral lover. If it isnt wrong then why keep it a secret?
Her book didnt feel right to me which really disappointed
me because I was really looking forward to learning to fly. I leave
my body often but I dont go anywhere, I just hover.
I think Ill wait to journey until i find another teacher.
D.J. Conway doesnt feel like the right teacher for me.
I will not be recommending this book.

Kundalini for Beginners
by Ravindra Kumar
ISBN 1-56718-435-9
I 'd like to call this book "Kundalini for the Intellect"
or "The Longest Path to Self Realization." Seriously though,
this was an interesting read. What this means is it took me three
different attempts to get through it as there is so much information
to take in. For one thing far too much was introduced in the beginning
for one lowly beginner to sift through. There were also lots of
quotes that steered me away from the main theses. I had to return
my brain to third year university to remember this or that writer
or philosopher. And by the way who is Paramhansa Yogananda anyway?
It seems to me for a beginner to better understand kundalini enlightenment
or as Kumar quotes Seth "Progress of the soul", I would
need a blueprint or a step by step approach. For example; a map
of the chakras on the human anatomy would be a start.
Obviously a learned man, this book reads as though it were written
for other PHD professors as evidenced by a 20 page bibliograpghy,
an 8 page glossary and a 30 page index. Please call this book by
another title or simply give the beginner less complex information
to sift through.
P.S. two typos: page 94 "practises is to unite "theses'
should be "these" and page 132 "through his hands
when the right moment "come" Should be "came"?
